I am always on the lookout for new games. Today’s spotlight is Legends of Callasia.

Legends of Callasia is a simultaneous turn-based single and multiplayer fantasy world conquest strategy game with no hotseat waiting. Choose from a wide range of heroes from three factions – The Hundred Kingdoms, The Faeborne, and The Revenant – and conquer lands through single player campaigns, or battle against friends through online multiplayer in board game-style maps. Use bonus cards against your enemies or boost your armies and rule the world.

If you love sports and baseball, OOTP has created a great baseball sim game. We have reviewed it before and will definitely be playing this one for a while. Enjoy the World Series, enjoy the sale!

Today I wanted to let everyone know about a Kickstarter project that is coming down to the final week, that needs your help. I normally cover digital board games, well this project is about a physical board game based on a digital version.

The folks over at Kyy Games is looking to make Cabals: The Board Game, an Expandable Card Game (XCG) a reality.  So what is it all about? I have played Cabals in a while but I do remember it being  a deck building digital card game.   Here is the “official” description.

Description:

Tabletop adaptation of the epic digital battle cards game ‘Cabals’. The perfect fusion of card and board game. Playing Cabals you get to control powerful wizards, magic users and witches aiming to conquer the opponent’s stronghold or build up magical dominance. The deck building strategy and deep meta game meets the tactical aspects of the game board. The basic game mechanics are intricate but simple. By controlling special resource locations on the game board you gain resources used to summon creatures and play action cards. The game is for 2-4 players, has a duration of 30 minutes and age recommendation of 7+.

I am always on the lookout for cool games and apps, especially on Kickstarter. Well today I have another one to report.

WRIO is a neat new keyboard app for Android devices. From the press release:

“WRIO Keyboard was designed from scratch to create an optimal typing result on touch devices. Intuitive new functions help to significantly increase typing speed and minimize typing errors.

The keys are much larger than on traditional keyboards and are arranged hexagonally, which makes them a lot easier to reach with thumbs and fingers. WRIO Keyboard also has two centrally located space keys and special characters that are noticeably faster to reach.

Touch-optimized gestures enable quick access to special functions. To capitalize letters, simply swipe up – the additional pressing of a shift key has been eliminated. A swipe to the left deletes a letter while a swipe to the right adds a space. I am always on the lookout for new games and Kickstarter is a great place to find them. Last week, I came across a new game that is hoping to be developed- Pirates War – The Dice King.

After reviewing the images, videos, and rules, this looks to be a fun and easy to pick up and play game. The game is hopefully going to be on multiple platforms, including mobile.  The developers are quite far long in the game development but they are looking to the Kickstarter Community to help them make it even better.

Pirates War is a “property trading board” game,  where you can buy land, build buildings, upgrade them and in the end the richest person will win the match. Now, unlike traditional trade property games like Monopoly, where after a match, everything resets, Pirates War allows you to continuously play. In this game you can collect captains, crew and even ships. You can even level up to make yourself stronger. With collected pirates, you can battle with one another. So not everything is based on money.
