An old favorite has returned! In high school Q*bert was one of my favorites. I put a lot of quarters into those machines. If you do not know what I am talking about you are way to young! 🙂

Q*bert Rebooted is a new title from Sideline Amusement. The game comes in 2 versions, free and paid ($1.99 USD). The paid version does not have ads.

Q*bert Rebooted has 2 game modes:

  • Classic – where you can play the original arcade game in all of its retro graphics.
  • Q*bert Rebooted – an all new game with 30+ levels and lots of updated fun.

I have tried the game on both small and large screen and I really like it on the bigger screen. The game plays in landscape mode.

For those uninformed, Q*bert’s mission is to hop around the hexagonal grid and change the tile color, all the while keeping an eye out for the enemies!

For the new version, you will have 30+ levels to complete. Each level will have a different goal you will need to achieve .For each level you can earn up to 3 stars and you can of course replay any level.  Within the levels, you can earn gems which then can be used in the shop, where you can get new characters like Q*pixel, Jack*Q*Lantern, Q*Tankwamen, and more. You can watch videos also to earn free gems.

I really like the new version. With the old Q*bert you always had to go back to level 1 when you died (which I did a lot) so it is nice to be able to save my progress.  Being able to earn gems, new characters and levels add some nice freshness to this classic game.  Every once in a while though, I will go back and play the classic version but it is just not the same as going to the arcade and popping in quarters to play!

As an old timer and remember when Q*bert was new, I can recommend this Q*bert mobile game to anyone looking for a fun game that does not involve zombies, guns, cars, or castles!

Download the free or paid version from Google Play.

For iOS, users, you can too can get in on the fun.
