Before you read this review; no, this is not a review for the actual Family Feud mobile game. Today’s review will take a look at Beachfront Media’s Family Feud video mobile app. This on-demand app features a library jam-packed with 100s of hilarious and memorable clips from the past seven seasons featuring hosts Steve Harvey and John O’ Hurley. Switching back to the review, the Family Feud app divides its collection of comedic clips into eight subcategories: Greatest Hits, Audition Videos, Rated R, Interesting Answers, Steve Harvey Time, Best of John O’ Hurley, Fast Money and Watch Later. The Watch Later category functions similarly to YouTube’s playlist of the same name in terms of having the ability to create your own makeshift Favorites playlist by clicking the Watch Later button (represented by a clock icon) within the videos that you like the most or don’t have time to watch at the moment. You can share some of your favorite moments to your friends and families via Facebook, Twitter, SMS text messaging and/or email.

Taking into account how Steve Harvey’s presence as host and essentially transforming the show from a struggling, lowly-ranked syndicated show to the third most popular daily U.S. syndicated game show today, coming only third behind Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in ratings on a consistent basis, respectively; it’s no surprise that this app was developed because of the endless number of moments created by the host and contestants within the past four years. Sure, the app could have been created with plenty of moments from episodes from the O’ Hurley and Karn eras, but, I don’t think it would have gained much popularly compared to the outrageous and hilarious you may have seen since Harvey has taken over as host. The user interface runs smoothly and the menu arrangement is well organized and user friendly with the inclusion of a search bar to look for specific videos without endlessly digging through the content collection.

In terms of the video, you will have to deal with occasional ads running before your selected clip begins, but, they only last for 15 seconds and you can comfortably enjoy your videos without flashy and intruding ad banners embedded within the video frame. If you are an avid fan of Family Feud, I would suggest running the app and videos with a Wi-Fi signal rather than your data in order to preserve your data plan. The audio and full-screen opt video plays clearly as if you were watching the show on in 720p or 1080p HD quality with crisp stereo sound on YouTube. While the video selection is vast and entertaining enough to keep you engaged for hours, it would be even better if the developers would include a Classic Clips of the Week section to showcase some priceless iconic moments from the early episodes with Richard Dawson, Ray Combs and even Louie Anderson (if there are any).

With the Family Feud video app, it’s always time for the Family Feud. This app is available to download for free in the Google Play store and is only about 9MB in size.
