Target Shooter has manual touch-screen controls and 18 levels of gameplay, including bonus levels with unlimited ammunition appearing every three levels. The game has only one mode with different types of target range arrangements. If you miss more than three targets in any level, the game will end. The good news is you will not have to start from scratch if you lose. You may choose to resume your game from the last level unlocked in the Choose Level tab.

As a shooting game, the app should feature numerous types of different shooting events such as duck hunting, skeet shooting and archery to add more variety. The graphics are severely lacking and could use a serious upgrade. Besides great gameplay, what makes mobile games fun to play over and over again are factors such as a catchy soundtrack, colorful animations and engaging 3D environments. The only graphics this game has to offer is a rotation of two-tone gradient backgrounds, generic gun sound effects, Android’s default font and flickering and sometimes unresponsive 2D elements (moving targets).

The arrangement of the touch-screen option buttons and advertisement banners could be placed better spots to not interfere with your game. Because the Exit, Pause, Sound Effects and Music Volume buttons are positioned within the game field, this makes the target sprites overlap these buttons and could cause players to accidentally hit them and mess up their momentum in the game. Like on many other games, there should be a sole pause button placed away from the game field, which contains the Sound Effect Volume, Music Volume and Exit options. Normally, free gaming app featuring advertisements show the ad plugs in between rounds or away from the game field. Unfortunately, the free version’s ad banners can be also become intrusive while playing the game, especially during the more intense levels.

This generic arcade shooter may lack aesthetic appeal and may not seem as interesting as other mobile games, but Target Shooter is still a good test of quick reflexes and accuracy, especially when you get to level six. This app is free to download, only 5MB large and cost only 99 cents if you want to play the ad-free version.
