AMSTERDAM – Feb. 20, 2013 – iOS gamers should ready their battlefield plans and tactical cunningness as Keesing Games’ hit digital version of the classic board game Stratego, with official licensing from Royal Jumbo, will be available for iPhone and iPod this spring. The release will follow the recent launches on Facebook, iPad, at Stratego.com and partner sites.

The upcoming iPhone version of Stratego will allow players to master their tactical skills in single player mode anytime, anywhere for $.99. In addition, Stratego aficionados on Facebook, iPad and Web will soon have the ability to try new gameplay features called Battle Powers that allow tacticians ways to coordinate attacks and influence what they and their opponents can do on a given turn. iPad players will also find retuned single player AI, an increase in coins for the iPad version to purchase in-game items, single player mode without an account, and additional display changes. These updates, along with platform-specific fixes, will be made available as free updates for the current versions of the game in the coming months.

“Since the day we announced Stratego, many gamers have asked for news of an iPhone release” said Dennis Maas, commercial manager, Keesing Games. “With the Web, Facebook and iPad versions now available, Keesing Games is turning its focus to bringing Stratego to iPhone and iPod gamers and updating the game for current players. The positive reception the game received has been overwhelming, and we are making Stratego even better with the great support and feedback the player community provided us.”

Stratego is a battle of tactics where calculating generals command an army using careful strategy and cunning deception when deploying troops, setting up defenses on the battlefield and attacking to break through enemy lines to capture the flag for victory. Strategists can outwit and outplay other players from around the world with cross-platform play on the Facebook, iPad and Web versions.

Stratego is currently available for $6.99 from the App Store on iPad or for free on Facebook or at http://www.stratego.com/. The iPhone and iPod versions will cost $.99 from the App Store later this spring.
