Review:

Do you like wordgames? Do you like a challenge? Do you enjoy the thrill of the race against the clock? If you answered yes to any or all of these, then Wordistic  from Mushdevstudio is a game you need to try.

The premise is simple, when the clock starts you have to score 50 points within 30 seconds to proceed to the next level. Now with each level the score needed to  continue increases by 10 so next you need 60 points then 70 and so on. Think it is tough, it is!! Holy cow, my scores have been terrible but it is a challenge and I love challenges. The game will make you spell and quickly too!

The letters fall from the top of the screen to the bottom. To form words, simply tap on the letter. You will see the letters you tapped on the bottom menu. When you lock in a word by pressing the check mark you score the scrabble value of the word and also score that same value in extra seconds on the clock. The game also gives you a word suggestion underneath the letters if you need a nudge.

The graphics are good in the game. The sound and music provide a very arcade like atmosphere to the game. All can be muted if desired. Each time you play you can have a different background. There are plenty of options to the game, such as pausing your game. Also when paused, if you click on the magnifying glass icon, you can get an online definition of your guessed word.

One of the biggest things I would like to see in the game is a help section. Initially I found the various icons a bit hard to figure out. After some time playing, I figured them out. The developer has informed me that they are currently working on adding more help information.

The game has Open Feint achievements and an area where you can view your best words played. You can share you info on Facebook too. The developer is thinking about making an easy difficulty setting for the game too. For only about $1 USD this game is worth it. The game is put together nicely, plays well, and is definitely being supported by the developer. Now it is challenging and sometimes frustrating but you if it was easy it would not be fun. A strategy suggested by the developer is to get a good start at the beginning of each level by playing 3 or 4 letter words. Once you have a few of these under your belt and thus the extra time, start going for the bigger word combos. I am going to try that.

So if you consider yourself good with words or enjoy spelling type games, give Wordistic a try and let us know how you do.
