Faeria – Awesome CCG on Steam

A game I am currently reviewing and playing on Steam is Faeria. So far, this is an awesome card game. It is very much like Hearthstone but different. 🙂 There will be a full review of the game soon. Yes this game is coming to mobile later this year.

So what is the game? This is straight from the developer’s website:

“Faeria combines the core values of Strategy Card Games together with a Living Board, giving you the ability to shape the board as you play to create mind-blowing strategies. Each game of Faeria is not only unique, beautiful and fast-paced but also highly competitive with upcoming features such as an observer mode and integrated tournaments.”

The reason for this post, is that on June 16-19 they are having a FREE FAERIA WEEKEND. You can download the game for free and play all weekend.  When the weekend is over, there will be two discount bundles for you to get the game.

  • Early Access Bundle: 50% discount applied
  • Early Access only: 30% discount applied

“After the Free Weekend is over, players will need to buy one of the Early Access options in order to resume playing the game; however all progress made and cards earned will remain intact, regardless of their choice, until they either enter Early Access, or log into their account after we(the developer) go Free-to-Play later this year.”

I definitely can recommend this game. If you enjoy Hearthstone and other deck building type games, then you need to give Faeria a try. Hopefully I can find the time from playing to finalize my review.  🙂

Cabals: Magic & Battle Cards Coming to Steam

If you enjoy Hearthstone and other collective card games (CCG), then Cabals is one you will want to check out.  The game has been out for mobile sometime now but it is in the process of coming to Steam. I have some early access codes, so read on!

About the game:

Briefly, your mission in Cabal is to setup your best deck of 30 cards and then use them on the playing board with the idea of conquering your opponent’s stronghold or getting 60 Domination Points. There is plenty to help you in the game, so do not worry about it right now. I have not played the game in a while, so I know what I will be doing tonight.

For those on mobile, here is the download links: Android, iOS, Windows

Coming to Steam

Here is some information from the developer on the new Steam version.

“Cross-platform gameplay is something we have been very proud of over the years with Cabals. That mobile version is gameplay-wise the equivalent to the Classic mode in the Steam version. So when playing that mode there will be opponents using mobile devices. Leaderboards, accounts and therefore decks are the same regardless of device.

The new Modern mode is only available on the Steam version. This brings a more streamlined game without Loyalty cost to remove one layer that makes the game a bit harder for new players to get to grips with. Cabals is a game with many layers that allows for the depth of strategy we enjoy playing so much and is meant to be a challenge to master. As only a small number of people have access to the Steam version it means there are unlikely to be online opponents in the Modern mode.”

Early Access

So are you ready to try Cabal on Steam? You can see its Steam page here and get more details, screenshots, and videos. I have 5 Early Access Codes,  so you can get a leg up on others and be involved with its final development.

What do you need to do? If you do not already have Steam on your PC, install it, setup an account, and then cut/paste one of these codes in the Product Activation section.

These are a first come first serve basis. When you take one, please leave a comment below to let us know. Enjoy and see you on Steam.

Steam – A Great Gaming Community

Welcome to the new section of the site! We are very excited about it and cannot wait to see where it leads us. The idea behind this section has been there for some time, but now it is time to make it a reality. The goal of this Steam category is to cover (well at least initially) games you can play on your mobile device and then run over and play on your computer via Steam.

Steam is  a gamer’s paradise. You can probably find any type of game you want. There is a huge collection and it is only getting bigger. This platform is a great way for game developers to get their products out to the masses. I will not go through a detailed explanation about Steam , but for those not familiar with it, here are some of the aspects:

  • Huge collection of games
  • Videos and Screenshots provided
  • Details on system requirements
  • Nicely organized in categories
  • Active online community
  • Wishlists, daily and weekly sales, giftcards
  • New games and early access to games

I have only been on Steam a little while myself. Why? Well, one of favorite games, Star Realms moved its computer version of the game to Steam. Since I like playing and wanted to update it, I needed to set up an account. Boy I am glad I did. There are so many neat looking games on Steam; many are free but many will cost you a few bucks. Say goodbye to your free time and your money!

Now Steam has a very active community and folks are very good about leaving comments and reviews on the games. The vision here is not to replace those reviews but to simply augment them. Most of the games currently available for both mobile and Steam are very well done but not always well publicized.

So enjoy this section and let me know if there is anything you want to see.
