What is harder to do? Make money, spend money, or keep track of where it all goes? I think it is the latter! Keeping track of money- expenses, income, savings is something everyone needs to do but a lot do not. With the advent of mobile devices, it is definitely more convenient to keep track of purchases etc on the go or even at the point of purchase.
Value – Personal Finance app gives uses a convenient way to keep track of their money. This universal app is reasonably priced and overall very straight forward. The app does not provide any tutorials or in depth directions. It does provide you with a good number of components that you can customize in the app, such as:
- Currency
- Categories
- Balances (show for calendar period)
- Password protect
- Set budgets
- Create templates for payments
- Tags
Now the app does have some pre-made categories use can use but you can add as many as you like.
When you first enter the app, you will need to create an account. Once that is done, then you can begin to add expenses. For each expense, you can set the date, account, category, payee, location, tags, notes, and even photos. Now you do not need to use them all but the more you do, the better you can find, sort, and track expenses.
At first, keeping track of expenses, is a pain, but the more you do it and the more consistent you are, you will really see where your money goes. Once you have some expenses entered, you can quickly view how expenses break down: by date, category, payee, or custom tags you create.
The app does a great job in letting the user customize the app. The interface is clean and simple to use.

After working with the app for a while, I would have to say that folks at Value hit the mark with their app.
