Looking for a hotel and wanting to save money? – TravelPony [Android App Review]

TravelPony.com is a relatively new travel site that helps you book hotels online. Instead of using a lot of traditional advertising, TravelPony uses word of mouth to help get its service found. Users are asked to post or tweat their deals online or promise to tell folks about it via word of mouth.

To use TravelPony.com you will need to set up a free account. After you set up the account, you are ready to search. Today’s review is about TravelPony’s official Android app.

If you are a frequent traveler to many of the major cities around the globe, then this an app to consider. The app compliments the website, but does not replace it. When I first started the app, I thought it would be connect to the main website but is does not.

The Android app provides you with a list of mobile-only deals, that they state are even better than those on the website. There is one deal a day per city. Also there is only one hotel per city listed.

So if you are looking for a hotel in Atlanta, simply click on the Atlanta and you will get the information you need regarding the deal. You can see photos, hotel details, map location, prices, and how the price compare to other online services. You can easily change the dates, room(s), number of adults and kids going. Once you are satisfied with the hotel, hit book now.

The app layout and the information it provides the user is nicely done. It is refreshing to use a travel app that is properly setup for mobile. If you need information on your account or TravelPony.com, there is a standard FAQ within the app.

I should also mention you can earn Lyft credits by using the app. Lyft is a service to help you find ride; you can learn more about it Lyft.com.

The app makes it easy to find a good deal on a hotel in many of the major cities. Now if you are looking for a room in a city not listed or the hotel listed is not near where you need to be, you will have to go to the main website. I definitely would love to see a link added to the app that allows you to go to a mobile friendly version of their site, maybe in a future update.
