Do you like to shop? Do you enjoy exotic items? Well with Delivit, you can now satisfy those needs.
Delivit is a free app available for both Android and iOS devices (see download links below). On the Delivit website, they have this mission statement:
“At Delivit, our intent is to simplify the free shipping of products and commodities around the world through our reliable and trustworthy community. Our services are easy on the pocket and are a win-win situation for both the traveler as well as for the purchaser.”
With the app, you will connect with others registered travelers who are willing to help you get the item you need. It is important to note that we are dealing with “Duty Free Shipping” not “Free Shipping”.
So how does this work? After you download the app, you will fill out a form to sign up for the service. Next you can put in your request – items you are looking to get. You can also search the registered travelers in the system and see where they are going. The app allows you to communicate with the travelers to help work out the logistics. Since only those interested in the program will be registered, this process should not be too hard to deal with.
Since this is a service you need to sign up for, you will of course have your own profile, with your requests, your travels, etc. Remember this service is only as good or effective as those using it. Right now I am not a big International traveler, nor do I have a lot of needs for items from other counties but overall this is a neat idea.
Overall the app is pretty easy to use. It has a straight forward interface and navigation throughout the app was straight forward. You can easily swipe through the app to add a request, see your requests, view travelers, and add a deal.
It should also be noted that there are some limits on what you can request/purchase depending on where you are going or what you are looking for. It is recommended you go to the Delivit website to read over the Duty Free Regulation Guide.
So if you are a traveler and want to help others out or if you are looking for some overseas items. Delivit looks like an app/service you should investigate.
