Yes it is baseball season again and time for an updated version of MLB Manager from OOTP Development. I love baseball and the bottom line is that is a great game for baseball fans that enjoy the details of running a baseball team.
The game is currently available for both Android and iOS. I tried the Android version this year and it works great. For someone new to the game, there is a slight learning curve but nothing out of this world. The game does have an online manual and lots of info online you can access via the game.
The neatest thing this year, is that OOTP Development has reached an agreement with MLB to use the offficial team logos, so now I can play my NY Mets! #LGM
MLB Manager has 3 game modes: MLB Game, Historical Game, or Fictional League. When you begin any game you can setup the league, they way you want: with or without finances, turn on/off DL, choose your team, etc.
In the manage team area you can modify rosters, the minors, lineups, depth charts, schedule (can follows the 2015 MLB schedule if you want), the DL, etc
In the league area, you can work out trades, check standings, news, free agents, etc.
Now when it is time to “play” games, you can have the app auto play a game or a week’s worth, you decide. When you do play game, you can decide who has control over the offense, defense, substitutions. Now playing a game involves you watching the action-you will not be swinging the bat or catching the fly balls. You are the manager, you run the club.
MLB Manager is a great baseball similuation game packed with all of the details and decisions a real life MLB manager, general manager, and owner have to make. Most of us will never own a real baseball team but with MLB Manager, you will get pretty close it.
So you baseball fans out there, the few bucks spent on this game will be well worth it.
