Hunter vs Demons: Fire Sea Saga from Lazy Androids is a free 2D runner where you are a hunter and your mission is to complete the various levels by freeing the trapped angels and killing demons.
The game is very easy to pick up and start playing. When you first begin, you will be given online screen tips on how the controls works. Knowing what to do vs completing your mission is two different things though.
As you run, enemies will be shooting and possibly running and flying at you, the floors will begin moving up and down, there will be prisoners to free and you only have some many lives to use. With this is mind, you will need to probably practice some (ie. die a few times to get the hang of the game). I did!
As you run there are orbs you need to collect, which can be used to help unlock spells you can use to aid you in your mission. They are:
- Shield Spell: Protect yourself from damage for a limited duration.
- Sands of Time Spell: This slows down your enemies.
- Eye of Archer Spell: Basically auto aiming
- Wings of Garuda Spell: When you are jumping on platforms with a sea of fire below you, helps you fly a bit longer.
- Power of three Spell : When you fire and arrow it becomes three .. triple the damage
I recommend you use them when you can!
The game comes with 16 levels to complete and you can only go to the next level once you have freed the required number of angels. In addition to the 16 levels there is an Eternal Run, which is an endless runner version, where you go as far as you can. Good luck!
In the main menu area, you can check out your journal to see how far you have gone overall or check out your world rankings. You can also purchase more orbs via IAPs if desired.
As I mentioned this is a free game, supported by a small ad at the bottom of the screen. The graphics in game are ok, nothing too fancy. The reason to play this game is what you have to do. The game does offer a challenge, with a number of different things going on at the same time. It is also a game you can play when you have time and is not one that you will finish in one sitting.
So go and see how far you can go and how many angels you can free.
