Looking for a different board game? One that might hurt your eyes? 🙂  Well take a look at the electronic version of Catchup for iOS

Catchup is an strategy board game, sorta like Orthello, where you will put down your color hexes and try to dominate the board. Make sure to check out the video preview below.

This universal app  plays in portrait mode and comes with a lot of different options for the players. The biggest option is the color schemes. Holy cow-some of these colors really are bright and hard to see (maybe it is just me). I personally like the green scheme best.

Other than the colors, you can adjust the AI difficulty, reset all of the game statistics (and there are quite a few), read the rules, and finally go through a tutorial.

In addition to playing against the AI, you can play online or against another human locally.

I like the game because it is fast and the rules are straightforward. It plays well and gives you a good number of options to help customize the game for your likes.  If you enjoy strategy/thinking type board games, then Catchup should be on your list to try.

Features:

  • an interactive tutorial to teach you how to play
  • a challenging AI opponent whose difficulty changes to match your skill as you play
  • online turn-based multiplayer via Game Center
  • beautiful and haunting music by Tori Kamal
  • minimalist graphics with customizable colors
  • GameCenter Leaderboards & Achievements
