In addition to providing reviews, I wanted to take some time periodically to spotlight a particular Android site, service, or developer. You can find the current Featured Site on the sidebar to the right. You can also find our featured site by checking out the featured category.

For our initial site, I decided on DroidGamers.com. When I first came on to the Android scene, this was one of the first sites I found. Got to have games on that new Android device, don’t you? So without any further ado….

Q. Tell us a little about yourself
A. My name is Andrew Huff and I’m the Founder / Chief Editor over at DroidGamers.com. Before that though I was a developer releasing apps on the Android Market when Android first came out. And even before that I was a graphic designer, hardcore PC gamer and general gadget nerd.

Q. When did DroidGamers.com start?
A. DroidGamers started back in March 2010. A bit of a late start when it comes to major Android sites out there that started when Android first came out but we have grown very fast and keep growing each day. It’s rather nice.

Q. Why did you start the site?
A. I started DroidGamers because it was an absolute pain in the butt to find information on Android games and gaming aside from the ocassional review by some of the major Android sites out there. Other than that there was nothing and no dedicated site for Android gaming related news and reviews. So I figured I’d start one myself that way I know what is going on and being released and hopefully helping all the other Android gamers out there as well with finding cool games and news. It’s grown to be a lot more than that already and we already have other features in the works to help both developers and gamers.

Q. Where do you see the DroidGamers going in the future?
A. I see us continuing to grow and become just a huge community resource for both gamers and developers of Android games. We have plenty of new features in the works right now that we can’t really talk about but it’s sure to stir up some interesting feedback as well. We don’t plan on going anywhere so we will be here for a long time to come. Hopefully we can be looked at like any other major gaming website, just Android related.

Q. What do you see in the future of Android?
A. Android will continue to grow and I think the whole Motorola Mobile purchase is a step in the right direction to securing the IP of Android from the plethora of lawsuits companies are trying on it. However, in the end, Android will always grow, become better and be on top. The momentum it has right now won’t fade anytime soon and with that type of force behind it, it will just continue to grow.

As for gaming-wise, Android will become a much more dominate player in the mobile gaming scene thanks to it’s openness. With companies like Steam, GameStop and OnLive bringing their services to Android, and the technology advancements that are happening so quickly, it’s only a matter of time before Android becomes the dominate force in mobile gaming as well. Don’t get me wrong, some improvements need to be made but Android has come a long way already in terms of updates both hardware and software-wise.

Thank you Andrew for your time and I recommend everyone check on DroidGamers.com when looking for Android gaming news and reviews
