The smartphone has become like an extra hand for people. They use it first thing in the morning, they stare into it on their lunch break, they even use it in bed before going to sleep at night. When you think of it that way, it’s hard to imagine a world where smartphones weren’t going to start having a massive influence on the retail landscape.

Interesting, even as recently as 2013, the smartphone wasn’t playing a massive role in retail, with only 5% of retail sales being influenced by mobile devices. In 2016, this figure increased to 37% and in all likelihood, it is going to grow much further in 2017 and beyond. Find out more information about being a retailer in 2017 in the infographic.
