Do you enjoy fantasy sports? Who doesn’t? Today I am looking at Puntr for iOS. Puntr is a free fantasy sports pick-em app.
Now a few important pieces of information. The app is free and currently only available on iOS devices. Itdoes not cost anything to play but you need to be over 18 years of age to participate.
The rules are simple – pick a sports league to participate in and then pick the winners. To win, you must get a 100% pick rate for a week! Yes 100%. The prize pool is segregated into different leagues and will increase until someone wins.
Making it a 100% pick rate makes it tough but if you win, you really have something to brag about! Since this is a free app, I am not sure where the prize money comes from, maybe advertising.
As the app goes, it is pretty simple to use. When you first start off you will need to log in with Facebook. Once you are in, then you will come to the main screen. Here you can see your stats for:
- Your Facebook
- Your City
- Your County
- Pick’em Overall
so you can see how you rate in these grouping. On the main page, it will also tell you the current prize pool amount and then of course what leagues or sports you can play. This week, I could choose from NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and MLS (I am in the US).
Once you pick a league, then you will see a series of games and you simply swipe to make your selection. Once all of the games are chosen, you will be presented with a summary screen to confirm your picks. Now hit confirm and wait to see how you do.
In addition to making your picks, you can see how friends are doing and how you rank among them and what the current prizes pools are for each league.
The app interface is nicely done and very colorful, adding to the fun playing. I am not a big betting man but I enjoy playing pick’em games. I like to pick the winners and not worrying about the spread or points, etc. Puntr is an easy to use app for those that enjoy pick’em games and looking to win a few bucks, assuming they know their sports!
