Graffitier is a new social networking app. The app is available for free for both Android and iOS devices. The app is easy to setup and use. You will need to first setup an acccount with your email address. Once in the app you will be able to add a photo and some information about yourself.
The app runs in portrait mode only. On the bottom of screen you have 5 buttons.
Home – go back to the main screen
Location – see items in your location
Notifications – get notficiations here
Profile – a quick way to get to your profile and see your posts, followers
Paint Brush – this is the “post” button. You can post text, photo, or videos.
When posting, you will be able to add it to the map or not. Now if you read the app store page, the developer says, “the app that lets you tag text, picture or video posts to your locations, letting you share your moments with the world” The key to this social network is the location. From my testing of the app, everything seems to be based on location. Overall I think this is a neat idea but it does have some draw backs.
When I first tried the app, I could not find any posting in my area. I search numerous keywords but nothing. Since it is a new app/network it is going to take some time before more people are going to use it. This is probably the biggest hurdle for social networking apps – getting more people involved.
Overall the app is easy to use and nicely laid out. The concept is good but from my testing, there does not appear to be a lot of users. Now I do not live in a large metro area, but if you do, test the app out and see if there are more users. I will be curious to see how the network grows.
