Back in March, I reviewed Muse Art, an app that allowed you to have great art on your lock screen. I really liked the app. Well I recently got a message from the developer and asked if I could take another look – boy a lot has changed since March. Yes you can still see art on the home screen but now they have added a large variety of topics and eCommerce has been built in. It is still a free download on Google Play.

With the new Muse, you can choose from such topics as:

  • Woman’s fashion
  • Men’s lifestyle
  • Art world
  • Food
  • etc….

to appear on your lock screen. Within the app, you simply choose the topics you want. The app will then randomly show items from each. When on the lock screen, you simply swipe to the right to see additional screens/items. If you tap each screen, you will get details on the item and if it is a product, you can add it to your shopping cart.

The app also allows you to setup a PIN on your lock screen, assuming you disable the system lock screen. You can also set the cover wallpaper with a variety of provided images.

As I mentioned, the app has changed a lot since March. It is still easy to use, but for me the eCommerce and fashion topics, really do not excite me. Since this is the case, I had my daughter, who just got her phone, download the app, and play around with it.

She really likes the app and quickly had it customized to her liking. Unfortunately I took her, she cannot fill up her shopping cart! 🙂 The app does make it convenient to do some shopping on a variety of items. You can “like” anything you see and then review them under the Favorites section of the app.

On the Google Play page, the app is described as:  “Muse is the first app to enable product shopping and discovery on the phone lock screen. The Muse lock screen carousel is the most accessible way to shop and discover products suggested by your favorite tastemakers.”

I have to say that this is app in a nutshell. Overall the app is easy to use and set up. Although you are replacing your current lock screen, the app will not interfere with any of your phone’s systems and can easily be turned on/off.

So, If you enjoy exploring and shopping (especially on Black Friday) and want to customize your lock screen, then Muse is an app for you.
