Select one of three character to embark on this seafaring role playing game. Captain Raema and Captain Stephen have unwritten stories so you can create it. Select their profession, faction, the game difficulty, and if you prefer, you can also change the character’s name. If you prefer a character with a story select Nathaniel Sveet. After reviewing the instructions for the game, begin your journey. Press any part of the map to travel to that location. Zoom-in and zoom-out by pinching the screen. As you travel, time passes and so does food supplies. The morale of the crew will drop as well. On the way, you’ll encounter storms and rival ships. Decide whether to simply salute or engage the vessel. When you engage in battle, choose each move wisely and react to the results.

Pirates and Traders

Pirates and Traders is another RPG to try. It has great audio with sounds that fit the setting. Plan the life story of the captain by selecting from several possible outcomes. Once on the sea, travel to nearby islands including Tortuga and Nassau. Once you reach the town, press the anchor icon to go ashore. Visit the merchant to restock supplies, and make repairs at the harbor. The tavern is the place to be. Read the latest rumors swirling around the town and increase the crew’s happy points by throwing a party. Hints are provided at the bottom of the screen when you enter new areas.

Pirate’s World

Pirate’s World is a side-scrolling game filled with pirate elements and themes including a pirate, gold coins, barrels of rum, crabs, and squids. Jump to collect gold coins and avoid holes in the ground. Avoid crabs and squids as they crawl toward you. Tap the screen to jump.

Blood & Blade

A lively background featuring stormy seas and a rocky shoreline set the stage for an intense battle on board a sailing ship. You must defend the ship from boarding parties consisting of sailors, monsters, and other oddities of the sea. There’s an on-screen joystick that lets you control the character’s motion and several buttons that appear on-screen to fight. Use a weapon or special abilities to win. Increase your skill points along the way. Accept new quests to defend the coastline of Athens; each one features a narrative that builds on the story.

If I were to download just one game from this list, it would be Pirates and Traders. This game looks great. The menus and icons are well-designed, and the well-drawn map is interesting to explore. Visit the various islands in the Caribbean with this game.
