Looking for an endless runner game, that might get you frustrated? Then you need to try Kurosuke Adventure, from Appzil.

In the game you play Dusk, a cute little adventurer (not sure what he is)  and your job is to collect as much candy and coins as you move through the game. As with all endless runner games, you cannot stop (unless by an obstacle), all you can do is switch from the top or bottom of the screen.

The game starts off with a nice tutorial to show you the basics. As you play and earn coins, you can use them to purchase:

  • new characters
  • powerup cards
  • upgrades / items
  • pets

The game is $2.99 USD so there are no ads, which is nice. After only a couple of games, I had enough coins to get 2 pets, so it is easy to earn coins to unlock upgrades etc. The game also provides daily rewards, so it is worth your while to play each day.

The game has few nice twists to it. As you travel through the game, there are gaps and if you fall through one, you will end up in Hell. Now when in Hell you can work your way back to Fevertime without dying. If you die there, the game is over. (I have done this many times already.) Also there are obstacles, if you get stuck behind one, you will die when you go off screen.

You can see your progress and your strength with progress bars in the bottom and top of the screens respectively.  When your strength is at zero, game over. Yes you can find “medicine” as you travel.

The game provides a summary at the end of each game, showing you your points, silver, distance traveled, etc, so you can mark your progress.

Overall this is a cute game and a pretty standard endless running game. There are no difficulty settings but both me and my kids are having trouble finishing a level so the game will keep you busy for a while. The key we found with the game is to be conservative in your tapping and do not try to get every coin. After a little practice we starting making some headway but remember you are earning coins so you can start getting upgrades pretty quickly.
