Before looking at Train Sim 15 from OlivLex, I really had not done many simulator type games. These games are different but very enjoyable and challenge you in different ways. The folks from OlivLex have produced quite a few sim games, so if you do not like trains, check them out and maybe there is one you will like.

The goal of Train Sim 15 is to drive a train.  (imagine that :)) The game is currently available for both Android and iOS. I used the Android version of this review. The game is free, supported with a small banner ad, that can be removed via an IAP.

Overall this is a very well designed and fun game. The graphics are good, the general sound effects are good, and the game controls are straightforward and simple to use.  I had no complaints. When you first begin, the game provides a short tutorial to show you  the ropes; you should not have any trouble though.

The game also connects to Google + for leader board and achievements.

In the game you get to choose from a passenger or freight train. There is only one option for each when you begin. You will be able to unlock more trains with XP that you earn as you play-so the more you play the more options you will have. After you choose your train, you can choose the map, day vs night and then the weather conditions.

When you begin, you can can pinch to zoom and change the camera angle in/out of train. Now you really cannot go wild and crash or blow up stuff in the game. You will earn XP when you properly drive the train and following the tasks given in the game.

This is a casual game for train lovers of all ages. My kids, that normally enjoy first person shooters, really got into the game and actually showed me a few things I missed.  The game has a lot of nice options to allow you to customize your experience so almost every game can be different. There are a good number of different trains but it will take you some time to unlock them.

TrainSim15 is an enjoyable change of pace and great game to play on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
