Everyone wants their phone to run better and faster. With that in mind there are quite a few apps on the market to help make your Android phone or tablet function better. Today I am looking at DU Speed Booster that is currently free and has 2+ million 5 star ratings, so it must be doing something right. I definitely like the logo, reminds me of something doesn’t it?
I have tried a number of different apps like this but right now this one is the choice for me even though purple is not my favorite color.
When you turn on the app, you presented with a rating for your phone. I initially had a 59. Simply tape the rating and the app does all the work.
The app is setup into two sections: Booster and Game Booster. Simply swipe the screen to access the different sections. In the game section, there are ads to support the app but they are nicely done and do not interfer. The app does not come with any indepth explainations or directions but you really do not need them.
The two sections look like this:
Speed Booster:
- Accelerator – turn off apps in background
- Trash cleaner – clean up unwanted cache, files, etc
- App manager – uninstall apps, apks, move to sd card
- Speed test – test the speed of you internet
- Security – antivirus and a privacy advisor
- Battery Saver – link to DU Battery Saver
Game Booster: Here the app will shut download background apps and clear out memory so your games run smoother.
All I can say about this app is wow! It has a ton of options and tools built into a free app that is not covered in ads. I am surprised that the app is free.
When trying the trash cleaner the app goes through and looks for old apks, empty folders, cache from apps, residue files from app long deleted. When I first ran the app it came up with 1.4 Gigs to clean!
In addition to great tools, the app was recently updated and now has a toolbar notification with quick links, a floating window that that allows you to access the app quickly from anywhere on your device, and finally the ability to schedule a cleaning.
As I said there are not a lot of directions but the app is very nicecly laid out and it is easy to find the different sections. Du Speed Booster is a very good tool to have and the price tag is awesome. I definitely recommend this app to make your device run faster and stay cleaner.
