Yummolate is a delicious matching game for both Android and iOS devices.  To complete each level you will need to match the chocolates and the great part is you do not gain any weight! If you are familiar with matching games, you should not have any problems with this one.  When you start a level, you will be shown which type of chocolates , how many of each you need to clear, and in how many moves. The other key piece of information is that you can only link chocolate either vertically or horizontally, no diagonals. (This took me a while to figure that one out!).  The minimum number of chocolates you can connect is two but remember you only have so many moves. There is no timer in the game so you can take you time and figure out what you want to do.  When you complete a level you can share your score with the world (via Facebook and Twitter). Off to the right side of the game, there is an area where you an see your high score and use an in-app purchase to remove ads. The ads did not seem that bad but I will let you be the judge of it.  There is also a nice interactive tutorial to explain the specifics on game play.

On the app store page, they list three items:

  • Get the more postcards and unlock more special candy dots.
  • Try making the square candies, then remove all the one color candies in one go.
  • Bombs chocolates help you clear more dots in the fewer moves, they can even clear diamonds.

Right now I cannot say much about the postcards, but the more you can match in one move, the better off you will be. It should be noted also that after a recent update, Yummolate stopped working properly on my Note 2 device.

The game is fun and a sweet time killer. The minimalist design is very much appreciated and the game satisfied my need to puzzle needs. If you want to enjoy your chocolates without feeling guilty afterwards, give Yummolate a try.
