Looking for a different type of  first person shooter? Freediving Hunter by Carlos Suarez, a former professional spear fisherman looks very interesting. I am not a big swimmer or fisherman but after looking at the images and video clip of this game. I decided to dive right in (pun intended).

Overall I was very impressive with the game. You start off with a nice tutorial  on how to play. The game allows you to adjust the aiming sensitivity and the overall difficulty level.  As you progress, you can unlock different type of gear and different locations to swim in.  There are no IAPs, so one price gives you everything.

The game interface is nicely done and is easy to use, even for a none swimmer. As with real diving, you can only stay under water so long. As progress, your lung capacity will increase, so you can stay down longer.

This is a different type of first person shooter. This universal app looks and plays well on the iPad . I definitely can recommend this game as it will keep your attention for quite a while. I just wish I was a better fisherman or had better aim!

Key Features of the game:

  • First- and third-person game play combination
  • Eighteen gear combos
  • Seven different hunting spots to unlock
  • Unique fish fighting system
  • Sharks try to steal your fish
  • Smart fish that react to your presence
  • Time-restricted diving (based upon your virtual lung capacity)
  • Underwater blackout system will lock you out of the game for 1 minute
