This year, Jumble, the fun and challenging word puzzle game found in most US newspapers turns 60 years old! To celebrate Just Jumble from Adveractive.com has launched for iOS. Just Jumble puzzle was created by David L. Hoyt and Jeff Knurek.
From a recent press release:
In 1954 Marty Dell started Jumble. Now this puzzle game is syndicated in over 600 newspapers and played by millions daily. For 60 years, players have discovered each puzzle’s humorous “punny” solution by unjumbling words and then pondering the puzzle’s cartoon and caption. At launch, the free Just Jumble app will contain more than 230 puzzles. New players will enjoy the app’s unique play sequence. Long-time Jumble players will love tackling every aspect of these word puzzle masterpieces.
The game will launch on Android within the next month or two.
Just Jumble is great game and very easy to play. All you have to do is read the cartoon for clues and then figure out the word or phrase with the jumbled letters. If you need some help, you can shake your device to shuffle the letters around. Most of the words or phrases are going to be a pun or play on words so you need keep that in mind. The app is simple and straight forward making it easy to jump right it. The only settings you will find is to turn the sound on/off. No difficulty settings either!
As you win puzzles, you will earn coins. With these coins you can use them to get help via: show letters, color code letters, and get a hint from Jeff or David. If needed you can purchase coins. Do not use the coins though, where is the fun in getting a hint? You can also share your accomplishments via Facebook and Twitter.
Just Jumble is a great game to play anytime and anywhere. Got a few minutes to kill? This game is a great way to pass the time. My daughter and I have really enjoy working together on the puzzles in the game and look forward to more being added, but at the rate we are going we should complete all 230 within 3 months!
