Kahuna is an easy game to understand but definitely hard to master. The goal of this game is to control the majority of the islands after three rounds.
There is a group of 12 islands, you will need to build bridges between the islands. When you have the majority of bridges on an island, you then control that island and your mark goes on it. Now your opponent is trying to do the same thing; thus the struggle. he game is broken up into 3 rounds and the winner is who ever has the most points at the end of those rounds.
This is a card game. You start with 3 cards and can have up to 5 in your hand. Each turn you can use, discard, and pick cards. The cards tell you the island you can build a bridge to. In addition to building bridges, you can destroy your opponent’s bridges. So you need to take some time and figure out what strategy you want to use. It took me a couple of games to get a good feel on what to do.
The game has single and two player games (via the game center). There is a single player campaign you need to play in order and win to advance. Each island has a different AI so it is not the same game each time. The games does show tips and has great great ocean sound effects.
A typical game will take you about 20 minutes so you can enjoy a quick game any time. Definitely is a fun game for the whole family.
