I would not consider myself a major golfer but I do enjoy playing and watching the big tournaments on TV. I have visited the Augusta National many times and have some great memories of the Masters.  Today’s app is one that any serious golfer will want to investigate.

My GolfStats+GPS by Bill Helman has a ton of neat features for those you care about their golf game. The app is very straightforward, has no ads, and is easy to use.  This app is meant to taken with you to the golf course, so it works best on your iPhone. When you first open the app, you will see the menu.  Here you can watch an introductory video (see below) and a variety of other options.

A nice feature of the app is that it can connect to your USHandicap.com account allowing you to post your scores each time you play. You can view your stats within the app; there is of course your scorecard and also a  graphical representation of your round of golf. The one thing I know about golf is that you need to play often to get better. When you do, you need to set some goals for yourself to improve. Well in my GolfStats+GPS  there is a my goals section where you can review how well you have done against the goals you have set for yourself.

The app is free but if you want to pay $2.99 USD you can download 33000 courses to the app. I would say that this app is definitely for the serious golfer. For those players that play often and are looking to improve their scores and handicap, then my GolfStats+GPS from Bill Helman appears to be a logical fit.  The app interface and text are very clean and easy to follow. Unfortunately I could not take the app out and try it on the course but I will recommend it to my brother-in-law who plays often and possibly provide a followup  with his thoughts on the app.

So if you are a golfer and want an easy way to keep track of your progress, give my GolfStats+GPS at shot and let us know what you think. Fore!
