If you ever needed to professional record anything, then I highly recommend you try Voice Pro from A&G Software. I need to thank them with providing me a copy of the app to try for this review.
Voice Pro is one of the most complete and comprehensive recording apps on the Android market today. I have to say that I was very impressed with all of the options and capabilities the app has. The uses of the app are numerous. It is great if you are recording an interview or recording a narration for a video. Recording is the easy part, the key to the app is all you can do after your record!
You can go to the Google Play page and read the list of features, but I want to highlight some of them here.
- You can record and convert with more than 200 audio formats
- You can customize the setting for the: audio source, spectrum, UI settings- local interface options, and IO settings- local backup options
Under the audio source you can modify the sample rate, encoding, audio channels, mp3 quality, bitrates and more. Sound complicated? It might be but you can also just use the standard settings. If you are a professional, you really will be able to use this voice app to its fullest.
- You can voice to text
- You can record phone calls
- You can purchase additional plug-in to extend the app even more
- You can backup to email, Dropbox, Google Drive
Ok now to the app. Yes it works as advertised. The user interface is nicely laid out and pretty easy to follow and find things. The app will provide useful hints along the way too if you need them. If that is not enough, they have a very helpful and informative You Tube channel and online forums .
Once you record your audio, then the fun starts. I am not an audio expert but within a few minutes I was easily cutting/pasting my audio clip, doing a noise reduction, and using the equalizer manager. You can even change the temp of the recording so you can sound like those guys that read really fast regarding the legal stuff in commercials! You can add fade-in-out, reverb, change pitch, and speed or even remove the vocals all together.
As I said, it really is like a professional sound studio in your pocket. Now is this app for everyone? Probably not. At around $12, this will keep some folks away but for those that need high quality voice and sound recording, conveniently available on their Android phone, then this app, VoicePro it definitely well worth the price. After speaking with the developer regarding the future, well they are open to suggestions from you the users.
