Both imo messenger’s iPhone and Android apps have received a major update featuring a brand new user interface for streamlined access to your conversations. With the goal of simplifying how users interact with the app, imo has focused on making the UI simpler and more elegant. By combining open chats and the contact list on one screen, imo users can read and initiate chats more quickly, and the addition of a swiping feature makes transitioning through the app fast and easy.

The updated iPhone app incorporates a group photo sharing feature, previously made available on the Android platform. iPhone owners may now join Android users in taking multiple photos quickly with the phone’s native camera to upload and share with groups of friends in real-time. Updated chat group capabilities allow contacts to view and discuss these photos instantly, as well as download them into their iPhone galleries over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi connections. The addition of real-time uploading allows the user to snap photos and have them immediately start uploading while continuing to take more photos.

This is an exciting UI update for imo’s iPhone and Android clients, which just recently hit its 5 millionth mobile download. Following recent launches such as VoIP (iPhone) and NFC (Android) last quarter, the new design looks to give users a better experience while accessing their major IM platforms such as AIM, Skype and Google Talk to communicate with friends and family.
